Description

Zirconia beads are specifically designed for grinding and lysing bacteria and eukaryotic cells, with a diameter of 0.3-0.4mm (40-60 mesh). The method of using microspheres as grinding media to lyse bacterial through high-speed vortexing or oscillation is also known as bead grinding. Zirconia beads have the characteristics of smooth surface and high density, low nucleic acid absorption rate, and efficient bead grinding effect. They can be used to extract microbial DNA from soil, stool and other samples.

Usage

In a 2ml centrifuge tube, add 300-500μl homogenate and 300-500mg zirconia beads, vortex at maximum speed for 5-10 minutes.
