Introduction

Magnetic bead-based clean-up systems are widely used in post-reaction nucleic acid workflows, particularly for PCR product purification, fragment size selection and sequencing reaction clean-up. Silica-based particles are commonly used for nucleic acid extraction from routine, low-input or fragmented samples, while carboxyl-coated beads are applied in clean-up, size selection and enzymatic workflows such as NGS library preparation.
