Background |
Procollagen type III N-terminal peptide (PIIINP) is released during collagen synthesis in muscle. Increased circulating PIIINP is a marker not only of muscle growth, but also of muscle repair and fibrosis. Thus, PIIINP may be a potential biomarker for sarcopenia. |
