The BioStringTM Plant RNA Mini Kit uses a dual-column silica workflow for purification of high-quality RNA from simple plant samples. Plant tissue is first disrupted under liquid nitrogen and lysed with Buffer RLC or Buffer PRC1 in the presence of β-mercaptoethanol or DTT. The clarified lysate is passed through a gDNA removal column, where genomic DNA is reduced while the RNA-containing flow-through is collected. Ethanol is then added to the flow-through to establish RNA binding conditions, and the sample is loaded onto the RNA column for binding, washing, drying and elution.
- Dual-column design enables DNA removal without DNase
- Suitable for RT-PCR and routine gene expression analysis
- Not optimized for polyphenol-rich or difficult plant samples
The Kit can be stored dry at room temperature (15-25°C) and are stable for at least 18 months under these conditions. Make sure that all buffers are at room temperature when used. During shipment, crystals or precipitation may form in the Buffer RLC/PRC1. Dissolve by warming buffer to 37°C.
