Alternate Names 3,6-bis(Dimethylamino) acridine monohydrochloride compound with zinc chloride; Euchrysine 3RX; N,N,N',N'- Tetramethylacridine-3,6-diaminmonohydrochlorid, verbindung mit zinkcdichlorid; Basic Orange 14; 3,6-Bis(dimethylamino)acridinium chloride hemi(zinc chloride salt)
Application Notes Acridine Orange is used in fluorescence and epifluorescence microscopy. Acridine Orange dye has been used to analyze mitochondria and lysosomal content by flow cytometry, characterize multidrug resistance, and measure changes in mitochondrial mass during apoptosis in rat thymocytes. It has also been found that acridine orange can differentially stain single- and double-stranded nucleic acids.
