Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle Medium (DMEM) is a widely used cell culture medium derived from Eagle’s medium. It is an enriched version of Basal Medium Eagle (BME), containing four times the concentration of amino acids and vitamins. DMEM also includes glycine, serine, and ferric nitrate. The original formulation, developed for culturing embryonic mouse cells, contains 1000 mg/L of glucose.
