| PRINCIPLE OF THE ASSAY | Rat IL-6 High Sensitivity ELISA Kit is based on the quantitative sandwich enzyme-linkedimmunosorbent assay technique to measure concentration of rat IL-6 in the samples. Amonoclonal antibody specific for rat IL-6 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards andsamples are pipetted into the wells and IL-6 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After washing away any unbound substances, a biotin-linked detect antibody specific for IL-6 is addedto the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound antibody-biotin reagent, streptavidin-HRPis added. After washing, amplification reagent is added to the wells. Following incubation anyunbound substances is removed during a wash step and streptavidin-HRP is added. After washing, substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of IL-6bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured. |
