Description | Trypsin-EDTA solutions are employed to release adherent cells from culture surfaces. They are created using swine pancreas-sourced trypsin, a naturally occurring enzyme.
Phenol red acts as a pH indicator to determine the ideal conditions for cell growth. The amount of trypsin required to separate cells from their substrate depends mostly on the kind of cell and the age of the culture. Different formulations should be compared in order to determine which one is best for a certain application. |
